- The Board voted to approve the USGS Streamgage Stakeholder Letter
Call to Order:
Kirsten Wallace, ICWP Board Chair, called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. Central time. The Board summary from the March 4, 2021 call was approved. Julie Cunningham made the motion to approve the summary and Rhonda Manning seconded the motion. The meeting summary was approved by unanimous voice vote.
Brian Atkins reviewed the Treasurer’s and reported total assets were $140,060.70 after expenses as of March 31, 2021. ICWP Executive Director Sue Lowry’s invoice was submitted to the ICWP Board Officers to approve on April 1, 2021 and that pending approval to pay the invoice, total net assets would be $134,560.70. The treasurer’s report is attached.
Executive Director’s Report:
The Executive Director’s Report dated March 31, 2021 is attached and was distributed the full Board. Sue highlighted the March 30th briefing with Senator Capito’s Appropriations staff to discuss the USGS budget request.
Geoff Bowman with Van Scoyoc was on the call and gave a legislative briefing to the Board. Mr. Bowman highlighted April 29th as an important date because April 29th is when U.S. House of Representative members’ funding requests are due to be submitted to the U.S. House Appropriations Committee. Mr. Bowman also spent some time explaining how the appropriations request process works. Another date that Mr. Bowman highlighted was September 30thbecause that is the end of the federal government’s fiscal year.
Because a considerable amount of time was devoted to the Van Scoyoc legislative briefing, there was very little time available for Committee reports. The Board did approve the USGS Stakeholder Letter with Amy Shallcross making the motion and Matt Unruh seconding the motion. It passed by unanimous voice vote.
Upcoming ICWP Meetings:
The Washington D.C. Roundtable will be held April 15-16 and co-sponsored with the Western States Water Council and the National Water Supply Alliance. The draft agenda has been posted on the ICWP web site and registration is now open.
The 2021 Annual meeting is still planned for the week of October 11 at the Wyndham Hotel in the Philadelphia Historic District. Sue has tried to make contact with the Philadelphia hotel regarding holding the conference with any COVID restrictions in place and we will re-visit the decision on planning for being face to face for the Annual Meeting.
Next call scheduled for May 6, 2021 at 9 a.m. Central time.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m. Central Time by ICWP Chair Kirsten Wallace.
